January 17, 2011. This was our first warm day after Sebastian's birthday (Jan 3rd) when he received his bike from Chris and I. When I say warm....I mean at or above 30 degrees, but with some sun thankfully!
He was a bit tentative at first, but with some encouragement and a lot of praise, he decided he liked it, and he liked that he was doing well. So we kept out there for a good half hour probably.
The very next day we had another sunny day and he begged me to let him ride to the library (about 3 blocks away or 3/8mi). He did great...sure, it took a while, but he did it, and he didn't complain . . . not even on the way back. To sum it up in Sebastian's words to his Dad as we picked Dad up from school that day "Mom is so proud of me!"
